3-1 to newly promoted Eastbourne away at the league favourites, what a brilliant result that is ;D , I really was not expecting that!
What a strange start to the season, newly promoted and relegation expected Barrow are both top of the league and unbeaten, and promotion favourites Stevenage and Oxford(who Barrow beat 3-0!) in the relegation zone without a single point, somehow however I don't think the table will look quite the same by the end of the season!

Perhaps the Pat Harding "knockers" will now start to realise what he brings to the side.

just got back from stevenage dartford crossing was a nightmare bridge had to be closed was still closed when we got back so took the other route around london shame i missed the first two goals but our defending was great mo harkin looks very impressive on the right!! stevenage played some great football but there finishing wasn't amazing and a last ditch tackle by darren baker saved it from being 3-2 great night in the end worth the journey!

I was fortunate to see all of the Eastbourne goals!! I was working in Staines, so went clockwise and missed the Dartford nighmare. Harding was on the left wing, not much pace, but, he's got that something. He has the strikers nowse...knows when to get into a goal scoring position, and put some decent crosses in with his left foot. Atkin, not a great deal of blistering pace, but again, a clever and physical player up front. All our lads gave 100%. We didn't look silky like the Stevenage team, but their passes were going sideways alot, in their own half! Drury was doing his running at the 18yrd box, and the slightest breath of a contact, flicks both of his kegs in the air. Fortunately the Ref didn't buy it every time. Shame he had to curl the perfect free kick from 20 yrds into the top of our net. 2nd free kick attempt though. The first attempt was snuffed out. We coped reasonably well with corner kicks. Mo was fast down the right, came off near the end. Wormull was ok, and missed an acute angled chance, so can't blame him. Smart got battered and was a bit late with some challenges, so earnt a yellow. Pullen got out of position so felt compelled to stop their attacker, and earnt a yellow. Baker was very solid. Nice touch at the end. The players came over to the boro supporters and we applauded eachother.

Fantastic result and especially nice to see all three goals scored by players who were plying their trade in the County League not too long ago. Also good to see an influential performance from Pat Harding down the left. Considering he arrived at Priory Lane as an out-an-out striker, he has proved amazingly versatile and having seen him on the left in pre-season vs Horsham I wasn't too surprised at reports of last night's performance.

I have to say what a rip off the entrance fees were. 12 quid for a kid. DISGRACE. Luckily only one of my boys came. Had it been 3 of them as it often is, it would have cost me 51 quid. To charge that for children they should be ashamed of themselves.
