Was impressed with new centre back, Steven James although its hard to judge against the standard of opposition. Unfortunately against 10 men of Uckfield’s standard we really should of scored more goals

We keep on hearing that the clu want more people through the turnstiles it would be nice if for once they would keep us informed re any new players ie Steven James is on loan or a none contract player

I totally agree with both the lack of info regarding loan players. I’m assuming that anyone who played last night who wasn’t a regular must be signed on. Also the lack of goals- the last striker we had that gave me any confidence was Alfie Rutherford when on loan last season- some of our forwards are very quick but struggle to actually deliver the final ball or get a decent contact on a shot.
Thought that Kane and Westy has good performances yesterday but I suppose they should have done against a lower ranked team with only ten men. Still, we move forward towards the final!!

Very strange performance last night against a very ordinary Step 5 team. Put out a strong line up, dominated possession, but could only manage a few half chances against a team who played with ten men for 60 mins. The academy players did not do themselves any favours either! Strange 25 minutes from Walker who kept giving the ball away. Then hooked and didn't look injured. Luer ran around in circles and I presume was supposed to link up with Toby on the flanks. Both full backs were going past the defenders as if they weren't there, but their crossing was awful, either under hit or overhit. Their keeper was vertically challenged, but the game was made easy for him. Few crosses to collect and only two shots on target straight at him. New defender James looked very solid and played some very good balls out of defence. What is his pedigree? Our stand in goalie distributes the ball better than Hadler.

Meant to say that if we don't get a central striker who scores goals then we will be back in trouble again!

Got a feeling that Cox doesn't like these sort of games. Have heard on the rumour mill that he is not happy here. Looking at our player stats (as far as goals are concerned they don't make good reading). If you disregard Romain, then Walker this season with just 5 goals is the top man! Look at his career record he has made 60 appearances (including subs) and scored just 15 goals with last night's penalty. It's a wonder that we are not in more trouble. The thing is that this failure to sign a 20 goal striker has been going on for nearly 3 years! With Luer as his strike partner they will be lucky to get 20 between them. Wonder if West might be tried up front. In his early days he was a recognised goal scorer.

The problem has been not replacing the likes of JT, GMac and Nat Pinney, last seasons loan strikers couldn’t hit a cows bottom with a banjo. Elliott was the main hope until he left. The last five matches have yielded 11 goals which is a reasonable return but you have to take into account the opposition we’ve faced.

That's the problem golfer. Whose idea was it to make our strikers hold banjos when they are playing? Should be holding a distorted electric guitar, that's a bit more modern. Seriously, most of the clubs in the bottom half of the table are there because' they have the same problem. Not likely to get into the play offs without a reliable striker.
