THE GAME HAS MOVED ON. THE NFLS HAS IMPROVED GREATLY OVER THE LAST 2/3 YEARS. WE ARE GUILTY I THINK OF WANTING TOO MUCH FROM A SMALL TOWN CLUB. THE SIGNS ARE THAT LEE IS GOING TO KEEP US AT THIS LEVEL WITHOUT THREATENING THE PLAY-OFFS. FINE BY ME. I WOULD RATHER SURVIVE AT THIS LEVEL THAN PLAY ISTHMIAN/SOUTHERN LEAGUE FOOTBALL. YOU NEVER KNOW IF WE CAN ESTABLISH OURSELVES AS A SOLID MID-TABLE NFLS CLUB, ONE DAY WE MIGHT GET LUCKY. WE FORGET SOMETIMES THAT GOOD FORTUNE HELPS IN ALL SPORTS.

Another one talking nonsense, the budget lee got this season is a play off budget we might well stay in the league but that was not the plan,if it is the plan of the club just to stay in the league give him a 6 grand a wk budget don’t be spending what we are,and waste money and explain that to the fans, that there is no ambition we have just give Lee a budget just to keep us up,so at least us fans get the real picture

Sorry don’t agree with the analogy we are a ‘small town’ club. We have a population of around 115,000 and growing. Compared to Barrow ( roughly 56,000) and Torquay (roughly 65,000) this town is quite large.People go on about our location but the two above mentioned places are not exactly within the M25 corridor.

The potential of this club in a town this size has never been harnessed, I know the council play their part in stifling some of the potential growth with their archaic stance but we should be hitting 4 figure attendances easily. Isn’t Burnley’s population only about 60,000? Anything is possible.

Colin like I keep saying get a good team wining football the crowds will get better but that is never going to happen when we keep picking the managers we do

The mistake LB made is keeping the players who didn’t perform for JH, didn’t perform for MM and haven’t performed for him. That’s 3 managers with the same 6-7 players with the same results.

My first time on the forum so here it goes. the club is no better off now as when TW was manager 3 managers since then and we have gone backwards instead of forwards. keeping the bulk of players from last season was a big mistake we have been a losing team for a long time. I agree if the team plays well and wins regularly the crowds go up but remember there is two other clubs in the town Eastbourne town & united town are getting over 200 plus and united in or around the 100 mark in total 300 plus it doesn't help with three clubs so close together. there is no quick fix to the situation we are in. I no it's early days in the season but I think it's going to be the same as last season lower half of the league. I was a season ticket holder but until things change from top to bottom i will only go to the odd game and you the regular 500 plus fans deserve a lot better

On more than one occasion we have had one of the best managers in non league football knocking on the door wanting to offer his services. And on more than one occasion the club have stuck two fingers up. We are where we are because of that.

Could not agree more with you golfer, plus Bexhill a lot of truth in your post but I would say we was getting a 1,000 plus crowd when we was doing well regardless of the other teams in the town, the only way this will change is if we change our mind set as a board it’s as simple as that stop the personal vendetta against a certain individual

I’m going to disagree with parts of it tho. I think it’s only fair I tell you, I’m Mark Smith’s Dad, not because that carries any weight(it doesn’t) but just to be open and candid! (And I’m not going to get drawn into any criticism of players, managers, certainly not EBFC board) I’m a Brentford fan, and whilst I live on the edge of a capital city with 7(?) million people, we are in the championship playing great football, yet we are struggling to fill Griffin Park.(We go to our new ground next season, I doubt attendance will go up much) What I will say is, I can guarantee you, if tomorrow there was no Brentford, I wouldn’t shift my alliance and go watch Ra-Ra’s/Fulham/Chelsea! So I don’t see why you expect Town or United supporters to suddenly see the light and follow Boro I also think, at the moment, in Conference south, year on year teams have to run just to stand still, I think Sports have improved immeasurable since Mark first signed on loan 18(?) months ago, but so has everyone else!
