Thanks I didn't realise that, it wasn't how I read it or how I believe the press release was written. My next question which I'm sure has been debated is what was the point in that? JH was sacked so anyone could have been caretaker, why make a marquee signing for a couple of months.

I could only imagine big name quick fix win a couple then go but it has not worked out like that, because there has been no win in 6 games

Maybe the guy they want or should have had is /was under contract at the time or until the end of the season

Maybe but if the club are relegated then I doubt he will want it, it seems more like autograph hunting to me. It seems a bit strange to sack a manager get in a big name appointment for 10 games & expect the old managers players to respond, without signing any new players. If the players know he's only there until the end of season ,then he wont be re signing anybody so they aren't playing for contracts & some may already be moving on. The advert said Conference south experience which is contradictory to the appointment of JH & growth from within, but I have been told the u23 & Ryman 18s are not continuing next year, hope thats not true. Darren freeman seems the likely candidate.

I hadn't heard of him but great cv,salary may be a problem & if he's based near bournemouth its quite a travel but good recommendation, especialy with his scouting contacts. Bit of a drop for him & wonder why he hasn't got another job but good shout.

We don’t need a glorified scout or coach we need a manager that knows the league we are in with a proven track record in non league who has had success at this level We don’t need to take any more chances we have been doing that for the last 7/8 years

I would be surprised if our board went with King. He would be a good appointment, but he's his own man. Can't think why he would leave Welling even we are just up the road to him.

Don't think Kingy would not be put off by not getting the job last time. Blindingly obvious he should get the job, subject to applying of course. Should of got the job last time especially with the best CV of all the applicants. As a result we've gone backwards in the last 2 seasons. Kingy may decide opinions, so what, Mouriniho isn't 100% popular, and for all his success Alex Furguson had his critics.. Whilst it is important to get it right we all know what happens when you get it wrong.

If he could be persuaded to do the commute, I’d go Dean Brennan.

No doubt there will be quite a few qualified names applying for the post, and I am sure this time there will be different people involved with the Chairman in deciding who the successful applicant will be. More importantly we need to all get behind MM, CO and DB and the team this Saturday to get this elusive win.

one of the qualities mentioned for the managers job is ability to work within a budget.hmmm! I think that rules kingy out

The club has the money not the manager anyway why would sk want to leave welling were he is loved by the fans sitting 3rd in the league yes 3rd in the league a place that we can only dream about The guy is a serial achiever we would be lucky to get him after turning him down before I think if welling get promoted we would have not chance or if we got relegated

Same old argument with king as last year, how do we know he only spends what he's given? the club has the money but the manager manages the budget. If the budget is gone by xmas & your 3rd in the league he asks for more the committee stick or twist, if they stick the big earners leave if they twist then they hope for promotion or the play offs.if they miss out & they have overspent then they are in trouble. Lewes &,whitehawk are examples of king management & look where they are MM seems to be keeping his options open even though the form shows he should go,the club should never have let Chris aguter go.
