I think what I said is just my thoughts. and a few of my mates think the same Glad you got j home safe and Have a Good Christmas not far for you both to travel on Boxing Day I didn’t criticise or say you’re all wrong! Just gave my opinion. Being a players Dad, doesn’t make me automatically right on here! (although it does make me, automatically wrong when I talk to Mark!😂) You have a good Christmas too! I can’t lie, I’m looking forward to Dulwich and Woking away!

Speaking of criticism!
Interested to get a fans point of view!
I heard the groans/ calls in the crowd when Mark kept swinging the ball, left, with curl with the wind first half!
To me it was, brave (especially after a couple have gone straight out!) Easiest ball on the pitch is to go right let the wind swing it into the middle for one of their centre halves to win it in the air! (no blame on the keeper! Their keeper went for this option all day)
On the other hand, isolate their right back who was attracted to the ball and run under the ball everytime!
Get that right and Kris can bring it down and he’s in on goal! We didn’t get it right, but we came close a couple of times.
Which one is better?

How can 11 talented players get completely humiliated by a bog standard Southern League team? They kept it simple i.e. pass and move and every one of their players seemed to be aware of what he had to do. WE seem to play off the cuff no plan, little organisation, Torres a great player but poor skipper. Our players go where they like (note Walker & Dawes kept going into the same spaces). I note that JH is blaming the players for not having the right attitude, BUT that's HIS and his hapless coaching team's job. A back four is clearly not working and with the two attacking full backs we have why not try a back three? This might help Ransom who seems to have lost confidence. Lastly I note that JH is always going on about how strong the dressing room is. I am not so sure. Are the majority of our players buying in to whatever it is he is trying to do? Should we be looking to sign players that have more bread than butter?

On Saturdays performance one of the worst displays l have seen in all the years of watching Boro criticising the manager is all well and good, but the players must take the responsibilty for their own performance, I have not missed any games this season & we have been playing very well the last few weeks. The next few games the players as a team have got to respond with much better performance, we all accept that we will be beaten .in some games but we will put up with a lack of effort. So enough of the critisim lets put that behind us and it’s get back to playing like we did at Dartford & Wealstone which I know we are capable of.

Should we be looking to sign players that have more bread than butter? Lovely turn of phrase, jbjo, more bread than butter, did make me smile😃 (haven’t heard that one before but be sure, I’m nicking it.) Who could argue given Saturdays performance? With reguards to your opening sentence, an awful lot of teams have asked themselves a very similar question, down the years, upsets happen. Its why everyone ‘loves’ cup football. Where I’m going to disagree is, I like us playing off the cuff! Our midfield is very fluid, our full backs are virtually wingers at points and when we get it right, very few teams at our level can live with us. It’s JH’s way, and I think if we could finish a bigger proportion of the chances it brings, we could still have a surprisingly good season. As we all got taught at school, for every action there is a reaction. For us it means our back four (glad our full backs are lightning quick or it’s less than four😂) gets less protection then I’m sure they would like. It certainly looked to me, like JH thought on Saturday, the games gone, let’s have a little look at 3 at the back for the last 20 mins, as you say. (If we go down that road do we ask Joel to play deeper or ask Tobi to push on?) We have definitely experimented with H as an enforcer/holding midfielder over the last few weeks. As for the strength of the dressing room, I have no inside info. I do get the impression they are all ‘tight’ and all seem engaged during the warm ups! (That’s the killer, tell tale sign for me) Now for the bit I’m not sure how to describe. From my personal experience of playing football and rugby, I’ve always felt there are leaders and followers. Some people can find a way from within, some are tigers when they are shown the way! I think, as a group, we maybe have too many waiting to be led! I also think this could come from the priory lane faithful. Not a criticism, just an observation. (There wasn’t a lot to cheer about, Saturday) Games like Saturday, I feel once we go behind, we need that big tackle/moment of brilliance/ crowd rousing themselves to raise us. It didn’t happen Saturday and we all saw how pathetic that turned out to be! We need a bit more bread, jbjo!

I think that a back three with two wing backs (which we have) is the way to go with our present line up. I also think that you can get away with not having a centre forward (which we have't) with this formation. BUT we must be tight and combine a bit more bread with our butter, which is great when it comes off. There you go I have said the bread/butter phrase again. I think I got it from my uncle Les who played for Spurs in the 40's and 50's. he always said that Alf Ramsey (who he hated) would say 'Les, you have too much butter and not enough bread!

I think the manager dose not inspire any confidence in the team some of his subs leave most supporters wondering if he is watching the same game as we are A little harsh I think, mate. Whatever went wrong yesterday lies firmly with the lads on the pitch, and my son was one of them! The subs? I was surprised to see Kane go off, but the manager knows his squad far better than we do! Surely that must be a knock/protecting Kane for next week. Charlie/ Dawesy for Liddle is a regular fresh legs up front change. Andy gets thro a lot of work each half. And I actually thought going 3 at the back pushing Kris and Tobi on to provide the width Meant sacrificing Joel on the right but we gained by being able use both flanks. Opinions eh!?! So basically, it wasn’t the managers fault after all! We did try to tell you, mate!😂

As I said before, dunno where that non-performance came from. But I do think, it’s a kick up the arris!, we maybe need to stay on top of our game
