Please can the team give us something to moan about!
Whilst one swallow never makes a summer, there is a long way to go till we safe. (Always the first target)
Within 24hrs of pre-season friendlies that didn’t go our way this forum was bouncing with doom and gloom.
Yet over 24hrs after another workmanlike if unspectacular HOME WIN.... This forum seems VERY QUIET
TBF yesterday was the first time,I’ve only been here since December, I heard the Priory Lane crowd clear their throats and get behind the players!👏
My thoughts, for what they’re worth. Dawesy and Charlie building a partnership nicely, looking a threat. Then we bring Yemi on! Bosh!
Happy that Sergio and Kano are getting support, this season. Was an absolutely thankless task last year. Funniest thing, last season, was hearing every week was “and the sponsors man of the match is Gavin Maccallum” Dave Martin, Mike West, Ryan Hall even Dean Cox have worked harder, defensively, in 5 games, then Gavin did in the 5 months I was watching! (But I was still expecting him to pick up a sponsors MOM against Welling😳😂)
Kano had a big game yesterday, it was close but personally I’d of give the MOM to Sergio, charging down shots that didn’t get charged down last year.
Defensively, they’ve been on point, yes we’ve ridden our luck at times but that is luck that deserted us at times last year.

Absolutely Smudge - agree 100% - bringing an 'out of towner' on Monday who is Chair of a lower league club, might not have last year...............

I would think that most of us are too shocked to have a moan. BUT were we moaning (which as paying customers we have a right to) or just making constructive criticism. We won ugly on Saturday in a game that last season we would have lost. That's great, there is no denying the current team will survive with the current squad, but will not be in contention. If that's what the fans want then fine. We need another decent proper centre half (this would allow Ransom to play as a covering midfielder). With Wills and Ransom covering the back four our defence would be difficult to penetrate. The problem is that we also need a centre forward who can hold up the ball. I don't think we won anything in the air on Saturday, yet we persisted in banging long balls to two lightweight guys who are in my opinion second strikers or attacking inside forwards if you like and Yemi who has lost his explosive pace is also a 'second striker'. Martin and West are good on the ball, not off it, they are luxury players. It does seem that the boss does not want them both on the pitch together and quite rightly. In the meantime keep on getting points and playing ugly.

Well said Smudge. Were are the regular dissenters? I don’t need to name check them do I? We’re all sick of reading their same old drivel! Maybe they’ve at last gone away to slag off the likes of Langney wanderers or Eastbourne town or Eastbourne Utd. We can only hope! But with your silence you’re making yourselves look really stupid! You know who you are!!

COYS Really wasn’t meant to be diversive (please note the smilie) It was intended as a more a tongue in cheek way of saying people are quick to ‘moan/critic’ lets be as quick to give the team a little credit. Lesson learned! I should of understood that, written words don’t have the same inclination as spoken words. For what’s it worth, I think we are looking, solid at the back and counter with pace! It’s not a bad start! Let’s enjoy the games this weekend and see where we are after that! COYS!

Harry Ransom is the best prospect we have had at the Club for a long time and has developed a good partnership with Tom Gardiner at the back which has improved the team massively this season. I have heard he likes a midfield role, but I think the way he is performing at centre back he should concentrate on that position where he has proved himself so well.

According to Kevin Anderson in today's Herald we have signed a new goal keeper Tom Alliinson is this correct .?

(Three times in a month.... That's now my full quota till the New Year.)
"Ian Allinson’s St Albans – the former employers of new Borough stopper Tom Gardiner and of on-fire striker Charlie Walker – have lost their last two games and will surely have a hot reception in store for the Sports. And Woking, already setting the pace in National South with four wins out of five, look ominously strong under new manager Alan Dowson."
Not sure where the second Allinson came from, but must have been a transmission error. Ian is of course the Saints' gaffer.
And a stopper is a centre-half. Only if the stopper misses it do we need Smudge Junior as stopper-upper.
And if he also misses it, we always have Smudge Senior as picker-upper-of-the-ball-out-of-the-netter. And kicker-of-son-upper-the-butt.
