don't know about outclassed, considering this team has hardly played together and some are not match fit, I thought we did really well. Welling only had Danny mills as a threat and Harry dealt with him mentally and physically ensuring he was subbed. The defence looked a really class unit and the whole team played the counter attack superbly. Shame about the lofted passes to Yemi but it kept their defence busy. Good scenes at the end and Saturday cant come quick enough.

Like I said we won and that’s 3 pts and happy for that I was stateing that we was very lucky it was not our good play it was there poor finishing and the woodwood that gave us the 3pts,yes we was fully committed and we run around and put good effort in isn’t that what we should be doing anyway as a footballer, but the difference in quality was All there to see,so let’s not kid ourselves if welling went home 3-1 or 4-1 there could have been no complaints

Well 2000 if we had missed 3/4 reasonable chances and they had been clinical to score would you be telling us that football is a RESULTS business ( I think so).
Anyway the result was EBFC 1-0 Welling. Great.

('No just being honest,as a few people are getting carried away and you can’t camouflage the truth ')
The 'truth' is that we won and you can't camouflage that truth
You have said in the past we need to get more people in to watch EBFC - a constant stream of negativity isn't going to do that is it
Yes we may struggle later on - but now is a time to be optimistic and revel in what we have so far got - we had precious little of that last year

Sussex 2000,why always look for negatives. If Welling HAD scored more goals than us they would have won but they didn't.Yes some of their finishing was woeful but we had other chances as well, but obviously not converted .I don't think any fan gets carried away by one result, but when we win why can't we be triumphant?.Dawes and Torres were amazing in the first half and I can't remember anyone not showing commitment and passion, either on the pitch or the bench.Games/tactics usually change at half time, hence 'a game of two halves'cliche. We adapted and held on resolutely,a great game and great entertainment.Good to see a big attendance.Well done to all,
Chris

We had one other shot by Ryan hall that is it no other chances to say we had others is just not true, and I said everybody gave commitment and you are right it is normally a game of two half’s but welling was better than us in the 1st half and even better than us in the 2nd half

Lady Luck was with us, but our sheer determination and work ethic made us deserve our win. I would be surprised if Welling are not in the mix for promotion, at times in the second half they were brilliant until they got to our box. Wills deserved his MOM and Dawes, Campbell and the new left back looked at home at this level. Ransom started off well until he tired in the last 20 minutes and started panicking. Hall tired badly in the 2nd half despite his shot that deserved a goal. Centre forward problem has not gone away, we have three players who are very similar in that they are 2nd strikers. West looks a poor signing as does the left winger from Margate. All said and done, if we can get another decent centre back and a 'proper' centre forward we should hold our own. BUT will we? Well done lads, backs to the wall, but a resolute performance. 7/10

Resolute performance full of guts and determination. Certainly had some luck, but we deserved it. We must get the centre forward situation sorted, in short we haven't got one. Another decent centre back would also help as would a right back. Wills, Campbell and Dawes were our stand out players along with the new left back. West and the winger from Margate made us look weaker when they came on, but despite a few panicky goalmouth scrambles we held out. Well done lads, but still a couple of decent players short.

Deserve To win ???you are on a different page, because we run around and put our bodies on the line as we should do minimum, that’s what they get paid for,to give effort and they did that but that does not constitute us deservedly wining a game of football but we take the 3 points and move on,we will play better and lose this season so we should be greatful for the 3pts when we were totally out played,I spoke to one of the players in the bar after the game last night and he said how lucky we are and we could never keep the ball long enough ,welling are top 5 team,so we will take the points all day long

We had one other shot by Ryan hall that is it no other chances to say we had others is just not true Off the top of my head: Dean Cox put one over the bar, Sergio had a shot from just outside, Yemi had a one-on-one with their keeper, where Wilks closed him down very quickly, Wills had a shot after a one-two with Martin (i think) late in the second half - which he put wide of the post. We didn't create as many chances as Welling, but to say we had only one other chance is just not true.. Also, agree with other posters that I doubt anyone is getting carried away, just glad to have won. Who saw this coming after our pre-season?

Haha you don’t count shooting out of the ground or nearly hitting the corner flags as chances you are clutching at straws Jesus how many balls did we kick out of the ground last night we will be onto the conference ordering some no balls today

Which wasn't true. I'd class the one-on-one as a big chance.. good goalkeeping by their keeper, so credit where it's due. Just pointing out the inaccuracies in your account of the game..

We are in trouble as fans if we are that deluded that we played well and think we deserved to win the game that’s all I am saying

I also got to say where I stand by the wall a group of us who have been coming a long time we could not believe our luck and that’s about 10 of us had the same opinion we was 2 nd best all night but we won so glad for that but we can’t stand blind loyalty

I don’t like it either when people describe a 4-0 defeat as unlucky or blame the refereeing performance etc. However, I’m also not keen on people misrepresenting the facts and making it seem like we were far worse than we actually were. Not a vintage performance by any means, but I think you’re not giving a very new team enough credit. Some of them are barely on first name terms!
