I assume that Kevin Anderson is away on a well deserved holiday, but I think the Club blundered by not getting anyone to arrange with the Eastbourne Herald to print the fact that we have home friendlies with Hendon on Saturday and a Portsmouth X1 on Thursday. There has been hardly any mention in the local paper of what is going on pre-season at Priory Lane. Surely to get more through the gate the Club need to address this.

(You rang, Sir?) I'm sorry, and I'm sure the club is sorry, if the Hendon game did not get enough advance publicity. You would need to address the question to the Herald direct, since I am not on the newspaper's staff. However, I will have posted a full match report on the EBFC club website quite shortly, and certainly by Sunday. I'll also be adding some extra details on signings and team news, and as the actual season approaches, we will try to ensure that you are kept right up to date! Borough won 3-1 this afternoon in an entertaining and quite competitive game. Hendon are no mugs - they just missed out in the Ryman Premier play-offs - and this was a useful work-out. In this final fortnight, Tommy is now going for match practice over simple training. Lewes on Tuesday, then a Portsmouth XI on Thursday (which might just feature a Widdrington, who might just be marked by a Wilson. Intriguing....) Then the Eastbourne United fixture, before the Big Kick-Off on the 8th. Do keep checking in at www.ebfc.co.uk for all the updates.

We never advertise our friendlies enough. Lots of teams further down the pyramid obviously inform the non league paper for instance, the obvious place I'd have thought, but we never do. Crazy!!
