As I pay my money to watch Boro play,I think I am entitled to have my say good or bad.Sadly today against HW its the later.I am sorry but Locky cant do it all up front, but hats off to him for trying! Simpemba seemed to be pushed up in front of the defence with Khinda John and Adam Watts as the last man. Khinda John is not exactly the most reliable last defender and we paid dearly for that in the latter stages of the game. First half was pretty even with the defence denying HW with shots from 40 to 50 yards out. Another trait Pinney doesn't possess is a left foot,he was clear in on goal with a simple tap in, but chose to switch to his right and make a right mess of it.Sorry but I am loosing all faith in the manager fiddling with the team,he would have been better IMO in putting Mcallum up front with Locky instead of Pinney? I wonder how the game would have panned out if Pinney had scored that goal.To be fair the one he did score was a tap in HW were an average side and beatable! There sub who scored their last goal could have walked into our side.

I know striker is first with the negativity on this board and if it doesn't get too personal he has every right to air his views. Those of us who think they can make constructive comments have just gone quiet and its not surprising as the team we support sat Top of the league early on but if the teams below us with games in hand show a bit of form we could conceivably drop as low as 17th !! No Cup interest left and play offs out of reach (please prove me wrong) season excitement over. I will still turn up but will the down turn bring the gates down and the revenue? Playing for pride... hope we can show some.

I suppose a brighter game with a measure of control in the first half with Simpemba playing in holding role in front of the back four ,Wright could have headed in but ball went straight to Carrey ,Pinney on for the injured Pacquette should have done better when he had done all the hard work but allowed the keeper to gather the ball ,in the second half hit very early and never really recovered ,Lok was clearly held back when clear on goal ,a red card should have been given (the same player their number 5 should have been booked for a similar foul on Lok in the first half ) but escaped with a yellow ,almost immediately they gained a corner and scored a second ,Raymond ,McCallum and Beale combined on the left and put Pinney in for what turned out to be a consolation because within a minute a spectacular shot ended going high into the net for the third ,better performance ,Lok worked his socks off and looked shattered at the end but no escaping the fact that we have only won 5 games in the league since the start of September and two of those were against Hayes & Yeading United .

Pathetic, We would be better off with a smaller and better squad and relying on the good. Academy prospects instead of pretending and using them as bench warmers. Its about time most of our first team are past it or not good enough.

Can't quite agree on the 'past it' thing as we have a generally younger squad now than we've had in years. Wasn't at yesterdays game due to work but have seen enough games this season to know that the players are good enough on their day, its the communication and consistancy where the problem lies in my opinion.

Youtube now has the goals. Embarrassingly for Havant, it shows the second goal was illegal. As Ben Wright makes his run to meet the corner, his marker Kiran KJ is vigorously blocked from following Wright by Ed Harris. I wondered at the time how Wright had managed to creat himself that much space. Well done, I suppose, to Hawks for executing a pre-planned but completely illegal move. Needless to say, it was not picked up by the referee (even though Simpemba is shown to be protesting). Conversely, the video does show Bradley be on side when he moves in to score the first goal. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMp5S-xDGt4&feature=youtu.be I guess a full version of the video would also embarrass Brian Dutton, who has to consider himself a lucky boy for not being sent off on 51 minutes, collecting a yellow for his foul on Darren, when he had already escaped a yellow in the first half for an almost identical offence. I have to say I thought Havant were the better side, but only very marginally, in what was another high-quality advert for Conf South football. Those are just specific observations. My lengthier ramblings will be in my website/Herald report.

Kevin, do we know whats happened to your commentary from games at Priory Lane? Listened in yesterday through H&W's mixlr broadcast, they were a very good and fair team, doing a good job but they're not a patch you Mr A.

(Very generous of you, Colin!)
The issue with commentary is about
1 resources. BBC rules require that an employee in the studio must "listen across" to all live programming. This is because, as you all know, my commentaries are very prone to racist, sexist, obscene or politically incorrect language (actually the last of those is probably true...). And we don't have the manpower - sorry person-power - in the studio. 2 capacity on air and online. We can run four live commentaries - two radio frequencies (Sussex and Surrey) and two iPlayers, but if Albion, Crawley, Woking and Aldershot are all playing, I am fifth out of four, so to speak. There may be developments for next season.
Meanwhile I'm glad that you listened to Hawks FM, who are nice guys and, I think, a lot less biased than some I could name.

Thanks for that Kevin, was beginning to think you'd been censored or something after not being able to listen in of late. Will be great if something could be sorted for those of us who can't always get to the games. Not always easy to check the usual platforms on a regular basis whilst at work (the boss deems it inappropriate for some reason) musch easier to tune in and carry on.
I notice alot of clubs at our level broadcast via Mixlr at the moment, maybe an avenue EBFC could explore, not sure whats involved.

Match report now on club website (and a shorter version is in Tuesday's Gazette). I hope our Havant reader enjoys it too, having declared on their own forum that the evidence of their own cameraman is "delusional".... www.ebfc.co.uk/reports.php?report=58
