Seems Simon has prospered after leaving us as I see he first team, coach at AFC Bournemouth -remembered by us for that penalty he scored to save us being relegated !

pleased for him, great character and personality. It took a lot of bottle to put that penalty away. I remember the 30 yarder at salisbury, he lined it up and curled it in to the top corner. However he does not list us as a former club on his profile. I also hear the a premier league club are looking at steve cooke.

Well what a shame that he does not list us.I sponsored him and have his shirt squad nos 14.As Kev says great character and was one of a number of cultured players we had at the time.Didn't always get the credit I felt he deserved but at that time anyone with any class was a threat to the clip board.Thank God those days have gone.

Umm, Maz, you might just be thinking of Simon Wormull rather than Simon Weatherstone? Weathers did always do some coaching and ran his own soccer schools, I think, while still playing, but he has clearly now moved on up the ladder. Yes, a cultured footballer, no question.

Glad to hear simon has prospered in football. I remember speaking to him just before he left us and he said the only problem he ever had at the lane carried a clip board. say nomore !
