Very lucky. Happy with a point after that very poor performance.

Listened to the commentary on Gosport and they said from after about 35 mins Eastbourne got stronger and stronger and we were playing well and thought a draw was a fair result, and on present form that was a terrific score for us. To come away from Ebbsfleet and now Gosport unbeaten is a great achievement. Roll on Saturday, lets be positive.

Could anyone tell me who Matt Parsons is that was on the bench for us today? He is a left back but can play in midfield. Has played at higher level in league 2 I believe but cannot remember who for. He was with another conf south team earlier this season but again cannot remember who. Not much help really !!!!

Matt Parsons is a strong experienced defender who will add options and flexibility to the squad. Definitely a good signing. Matt has played for Plymouth Argyle and Barnet. He was briefly at Boreham Wood earlier in the season.

For those who didn't make it, heres my summary! (Im no Kevin Anderson)
A game of two halfs really. The first was really one to remember after going 1-0 down after 3minutes, we started very slow and didn't really start coming into the game until around the 30minute mark. We actually made them look good, and no disrespect to Gosport but they really were not a good side by any means. Second half was a much better showing and right from the off we were clearly the better side, what ever TW said (shouted) to the lads at half time certainly worked. From the moment the second half whistle blew we were the dominant side and with only a couple of scares from Gosport counters we really could of grabbed all 3 points. The penalty miss was honestly dreadful and i don't know why Gavin McCallum, Sam Beale or Pacman didn't take it. Also had the scrappy chance on the line which on another day would of gone in. Then the moment of magic that made the whole game worth while travelling for, Aldreds stunning strike which flew into the top corner leaving the keeper stranded. We also had another penalty shout which the ref said no.
The referee was absolutely awful today. Very inconsistent and didn't seem to know what he was doing the whole game. Our penalty which was awarded was maybe the only good call he made all day, along with the red card for Gosport. However our second penalty appeal was probably more of a clear cut penalty than the first and how he didn't give that i will never know. Gosport could easily of racked up 5 or 6 yellows for Dissent. An team with terrible discipline, sore-losers and cheats. Their keeper summed up their team really by repeatedly shouting "**** off you ****" even in the presence of young children, very disrespectful and how the ref didn't say anything about it is again beyond me.
At the start of the day i would of taken a point, however we really should of won it second half. Oh well! Roll on Dover! COME ON BOROUGH!

Thanks, BoroLad, for that superb summary of the game. You captured all the big points exactly right. Want a job?
(If you do still want poetic lines about stadium architecture, the essence of the midfield balance between artist and artisan, and a little bit about the weather, my own report will be on the club website tomorrow and in Tuesday's Gazette....)

Not much to stay about their 'stadium' really! Though I'll remember it for next time! Glad you enjoyed it, not bad for an 18 year old

As stated before i thought our penalty was dubious and the actual shot was awful, i did say that it was pacman when it was james walker who took it. second half we were the better team by far. aldred goal was a cracker and deserved. good amount of traveling support as well.
