Really interesting to read about the way things work at this level. I for one have always wondered about contracts and such and how they work in non league. Thanks kevin.

Sideline, thanks for the extra questions. There are a lot of variations between clubs and even within clubs. The very short answer is that yes, all four of those "clauses" might crop up. I simply don't know all the details of the Borough wage structure - nor should I do so, any more than I know the exact income of the shop assistant who serves me or the actor who entertains me at the Devonshire Park. (That isn't a criticism of your question, of course.) It may be that the club would be able to say a tiny bit more in general terms; if so, I'll come back to you.
We have to remember also that if this were all an open book it would make Tommy's job a lot trickier in his dealings with players.
