I actually wonder whether some people have been to the game when they post on here, flip flops on, clavius stating commitment from Sam (which i do agree with by the way), but insinuating that others hadn't shown any, we played two thirds of the game with 10 players, i know personally a few of the players & they run themselves into the ground, trying to cancel out gosport, overrun in midfield. As for Stacey long who is supposed to be the ball player, his weight of pass whether 5 yards or 60 yards is poor, when he loses the ball he trots back thinking the other players will have to cover his back side, primadonna comes to mind. I think a few of the players will be glad to get away from eastbourne, at least you will have plenty of new faces to whinge about next season

i stand by my comments froggie, maybe it depends where you stand but it was clear to me yesterday that one or two players were either not 100% switched on or carrying injuries. The tight marking and invention of earlier in the season was missing, plenty of huff and puff maybe, but a few weeks ago we would have dispatched a team like gosport even with 10 players. The sending off was down to a lack of concentration, committed maybe but badly timed as was the penalty. Tw who has in comparison of late been a bit more relaxed obviously thought so to and was back to his old ranting self. I dont doubt that the players run themselves into the ground, but football is a game that requires more than that. I am criticising then it is for the team as a whole and not singling out individuals. one thing I do accept though is that it is inevitable the level will drop now we are out of the playoff chase.

My comment about running themselves into the ground was more about having 10 men for most of the game & not in reference to the style of football i would like to watch, maybe if long had shifted himself without his flip flops on he would have helped the team a bit more

I was standing about 15 feet from the tackle - it was a ridiculous decision - it was the perfect tackle.

Really I was the same distance away and he took the guy out. You've got to ask yourself why would you dive in like that after 20mins weither he got him or not it was a pretty dumb thing to do.

totally agree with pluto, no need for a full back to be diving in there. Thats the midfields job......

Did not see the tackle which saw Cole red carded as I was further back on the terracing, but there did not appear to be any angry protests from the Gosport players at the time, so I was surprised to see him sent off. With the penalty decision and the sending off the two big decisions went against us and it was always going to be an uphill battle for the last hour with 10 men, but as Clavius stated for a full back to be sent off half way in the opponents half right on the line is ridiculous. With Sheps, Deaman, Watts and Raymond all missing from the starting line-up we looked poor in Quality but I thought the team fought hard against the odds and it was always likely that Gosport would get the third when we were pushing forward for the equaliser. The one good thing about the game was the introduction at half time of Richie Welch, who had a promising 45 mins and did not look out of place. Certainly a poor game, not helped by a referee who had a bad day.

Pluto - I don't have to ask myself anything it was a great tackle. Clav - With your eyes and your vantage point its a miracle you can see that far up the pitch.

I spoke to Sam once he emerged from the dressing room and he was also at a loss as to why he was red carded. I have spoken to Sam many times and if he thought he,d fouled a player he would be the first to admit it. The team would certainly miss sam if he departed the lane as would many fans.
