We have a Conference South Mid table team or squad, although it is in my opinion that at least 4 players that are capable of being in a promotion side or better still being able to play in the Conference Premiership, the question is will they be around playing for us next season, and what does TW do, keep them all and continue to grow his garden,or get rid of most and bring in at least another 7 or so players who from the start of next season are capable to go for it? Its sad as there appeared to be no outstanding team in our league, and with the squad we have should have at least made a play off place, I personally think we gave too many teams respect when they didn’t deserve it. We have no doubt some decent players, some seem to be injury prone,we cant afford to keep these players no matter how good they are,we need a solid fit squad. Now the crunch question, next seasons budget! I see nothing on the horizon as regards sponsorship, nothing seems to have been done looking outside to in. The positives this season is what's been achieved by the Academy, the rest an absolute waste of time, effort, toil and pain for our squad, its sad I know, but you must consider those players who could have achieved something this season.

The gulf between the premiership and its feeder leagues is as big as it has ever been I am afraid. We have a decent squad but it would take a major rebuild or a rethink on tactics to survive up there. The conference south is also a very tough league especially physically, there are some big units plying their trade and there have been times where only the squads fitness has got us through. I am quite satisfied as to where we are now, I didnt think for one minute we would be on the periphery of the playoffs. As for the academy, would they have been as successful if they did not have the standard of player we have in the front side to look up to? I doubt it. I do not think that it has been an absolute waste of time, effort and toil on, the contrary this is a young side with a lot to look forward to. This time next season your points might have a bit more resonance if we indeed have not progressed.

Please no revolving door, I feel the core of the squad is good. Bear in mind that they're all still relatively young and we simply can't splash the cash like Eastleigh or Ebbsfleet. We've shown we're capable against the top teams - drawing against Eastleigh and Bromley at home recently - and against the former we were unfortunate not to have won. What we could do with, I feel, if we're to contend next season, is an experienced forward who scores regularly (maybe this would be Elvis Hammond if he stays?) to help out Darren Lok who is improving all the time. However, it's been fantastic that goals have come from all over the pitch and it shows that we don't rely on one single individual as other teams might. Defensively we've been pretty solid all season.. if we lose, it's usually by the single goal. Just one or two extra faces I think - and maybe some stepping up from the academy if it's not too early? Trust in these players - even though this league has been very open it's a big ask to demand a twenty point improvement on last season and compete with the resources of some clubs.

Nobody says it quite like Clavius however I do feel your easily satisfied. Mid table when there's nothing special in this league to me is not good enough. We need to play more entertaining attacking football 1-0 1-1 0-1 are not going to to many people flooding back through the door and you've got to have ambition just going through the motions holds no water. I would like things will improve next year 4-5 of the academy will be knocking at the door keep 7-8 of the squad we have and bring in 5-6 3 of which have to be strikers. We've nothing to fear in this league so let's go out next year keep the ball play through midfield stop hitting high 60 yard balls to small strikers and have a real go at getting promoted .

It really depends on the budget Tommy has to work with.. Agree that we could do with a few more players, disagree that we need a complete overhaul bar a handful of players.. I think that'd be too hasty. Can't deny that in previous seasons we've looked more like falling through the trapdoor than being anywhere near the play-offs and we had a gazillion players turn up for us last season.. so we've made progress. Just need to continue progressing through adding what is actually needed but not tearing the turf up. It'll be good to see some from the academy challenges for places next year.

Budgets , all about how many supporters turn up each week.and that depends on what's dished up. And what is dished up depends on the money made available to the manager at the start of the season. It's a vicious circle. A supporter base will always be split between those who want to watch their side every other week, whatever happens, and those who will stop going if they perceive they're not getting value for money. Borough can't have a bigger budget if more fall into the latter camp.

Your spot on Andrew the problem is people want to see ambition which means that just being happy with mid table will put more bums in front of the telly on Saturday afternoon which means less money comming unto the club then we're be lucky just to stay up. Slippery slope?

That is not to say we had a chance of winning the league or getting promotion, its an achievement to have made the play off’s, that is what puts bums on the seats.
