02/06/08 : Squad Changes For 2008/2009 95% of the existing squad have now re-signed for the coming season. Manager Garry Wilson advises that he is yet to finalise new terms with the remaining players who are at present on holiday, but hopes to do so in the very near future.
Adam Wilde has not been offered terms for the 2008/2009 season and has now left the club.
'The Sports' have been unable to agree a new contract with Scott Ramsay who is now free to speak to other clubs. Eastbourne Borough FC would like to thank Scott for his significant contributions over the past seasons; his goals have made a major contribution to the clubs progress through the non-league pyramid. Scott scored 185 goals in 283 games since joining in July 2002 and the very best wishes are offered to 'Rambo' for his future career away from Priory Lane.
On the arrival front a welcome is offered to Jean-Michel Sigere and Simon Wormull who both join the club from Blue Square South Champions and local rivals Lewes FC. Jean-Michel and Simon will bring experience, strength and recognised quality to the Boro squad as the club prepares for life at the national Conference level.

we can read the official site andy!! but good work by the management but I feel there is a few more players that need to be ousted ( pat harding, matt smart , matt crabb , kember) who just won't cut it in the conference! and few signings that need to be made

I'm sure matt crabb will be looking to improve on last season.

He is there and I am making the assumption that those that are shown as our squad have all signed.

I think another defender, possibly a centre back needs to be added to the squad, other than that it's looking fairly strong.

With JMS and SW onboard this might entice SR to come too? WAges could be a sticking point. But, just think, he'd be a major asset at the back!!

I too rate Pat very highly.... bearing in mind it wasnt that long ago he and Andy Atkin were in the county set up, it shows what a good eye G and N have !!

Interesting how opinions of players differs between supporters. I recall last season when most were saying that Andy Atkin was out of his depth and could not cut it in the team and this year he has been dynamic.
I believe Pat Harding is another who has quietly improved as the season went on and certainly should be able to improve further with the step up in standard.
It should be remembered that this coming season we will rely more on the squad with more league fixtures and the increased travelling. The management are happy to rely on players who proved their worth last season with a few additions of quality players who will strengthen our team.
Rambo has been a great servant to the club and I am sure he will continue for a few more seasons, probably at a slightly lower level.

I thought Pat worked hard on his game after New Year - his first touch, control and delivery were noticeably better than earlier in the season. Good work rate chasing back after Borough lost possession too. Although not a star I think he is well worth keeping faith with for part of the season and see how he adjusts to the higher standard, pace etc. I have niggling worries about Jay and Jenks at full backs - they seemed to be the most error prone and I feel their shortcomings would be shown up next season. Possibly, Pully may just be lacking the pace needed when having to turn and chase but he was so brilliant last season he has to be given the chance. Matt Crabb can be brilliant on his day but may prove to be a bit too head down in his running - we will need players who can see what is going on all over the pitch. The two Lewes signings should be good - our pass and move midfielders should benefit by a bigger presence around them in that area and maybe Wormcast may be an asset here. Right now, I think we are one full back short but our better players did turn out a bit injury prone so good cover will still be needed. Good luck to the whole squad and G&N and get behind the team all you Eastbournians.

Good to see positive posts about Pat.I wonder how large a squad we will end up with given the increased demands.I also wonder if we have plans to sign futher players or whether that is it budget wise.Anyone know?

Interesting thread on Lewes forum. therooks.proboards55.com/index.cgi?board=lewes&action=display&thread=1762&page=2Surprised that the Howard guy talks about money! I reckon he doubles everything to create trouble. Amazes me how far some people go. I reckon we got it right this year. As for Rambo, I hope he gets his worth elsewhere. I feel certain he will find his level. Personally I could never understand how he got so many goals, Pleased he did though! Good luck to him for the future.

I recall last season when most were saying that Andy Atkin was out of his depth and could not cut it in the team and this year he has been dynamic. I remember saying to someone (cant remember who) towards the end of 05/06 (??) season that I wanted to see Atkin play up front. This was at the time he was playing in midfield.
