For those who cannot travel on Tuesday:
We are hoping to bring you full live commentary on the game via the Internet. No promises yet, as there are logistical problems - the Braintree Town ground does not have an "ISDN" link to plug my kit into! - but we're working on it. Should have a firm decision by end of tomorrow (Monday).
We will of course have extensive coverage of Saturday's second leg (but then you'll all be at the ground anyway!) and if we make the final, there will be full coverage from Stevenage.

Kevin, I'll promise not to stand in front of you like I did at Stoke for the playoff final ;D

Thanks Maz, very kind. At Stoke we were so far away from the pitch I couldn't see a blind thing anyway. Will we get the big new stand behind the goal at Stevenage ?

OK folks, we shall be attempting live coverage of tomorrow's first leg from Braintree. I say attempting, because there are real technical obstacles. Braintree Town does not have an ISDN broadcasting line (reminder of how fortunate we are at Priory Lane and the Pan - two of only about four in the BS South). I will not make it in time because of work commitments, but our reporter Gavin Denison, who usually covers Aldershot and Woking, is game for it. Many thanks to him. He will be using a "matrix", a sort of mobile broadcasting unit which can be unreliable because it's dependent on signal strength in the local area. So no promises, but we will do our best. Please forgive us if the coverage is a bit wobbly. How to access it ? This link should work www.bbc.co.uk/southerncounties/content/articles/2007/08/23/live_football_2007_feature.shtml Or else go to our website, www.bbc.co.uk/southerncounties and then our Sport page, and follow the link for live football commentary. If we fail, I will try to get score updates on to this message board nonetheless. Kevin A. BBC Southern Counties Radio

Half-time Borough 1-0 up
Wet skiddy conditions. Early Braintree pressure, then Andy's goal on the half hour. Two great efforts from Crabby, both well saved. (Tannoy announced scorer as Tait but our commentator Gavin Denison is checking.)
Many thanks to Gavin for making the trip, as I was unable to get away in time.

Quick correction to the scorer (no, not the score!!) - it was Allan Tait not Andy Atkin.
No worries, Gavin. I blame the murky old Braintree floodlights.
Commentary resumes in 5 mins.
